Marsha has been a movement educator, Pilates teacher and licensed physical therapist in studio and clinic settings since 2000. As a teacher she fosters each student’s relationship with their own body by providing a pathway to healing through supportive coaching and encouragement; and by providing safe and appropriate challenges that allow students to receive maximum benefit from each workout. Above all, she believes in the power of each individual to gain mastery and control over their own health and well-being through conscious movement. Marsha completed her Pilates training in 2002 at The Pilates Center in Boulder, Colorado, a well-regarded certification program in classical Pilates, requiring 750 hours of intensive hands-on small group workshops, lessons, performance, practice teaching, observation, and written and practical exams. She completed the Polestar Pilates Rehabilitation certification program for health care professionals with Brent Anderson and Elizabeth Larkam in 1999.
Tom (email@example.com) is a “Classical Pilates” instructor, trained and certified (1999) by Romana Kryzanowska. He studied under Master Teachers Sari Paige (NYC), Dorothee VanDewalle (Metropolitan Pilates) and Lori Coleman-Brown (Pilates Seattle International). He has additional training in Alexander Technique, Trager, Feldenkrais, Skinner Releasing, Ballet, Modern Dance and Russian Biomechanical Actor Training (Biomechanics). Tom received his MFA in Directing from the University of Washington, a Directing Scholarship from Cornell, and a BA in Theatre from Michigan State. He continues to work as a writer/director, actor, stage manager, lighting and set designer. He composes and performs on keyboard and guitar. Having beat himself up sword fighting, hanging lights, wildly striking out at drums with all four limbs, pouring concrete in three-foot crawlspaces and hauling 60-pound backpacks 50 miles, he had developed the strength and grace of a bull-rider crawling from the ring… Pilates saved him.
Heather P. Mullen
Heather (firstname.lastname@example.org) has been a popular personal trainer and group fitness instructor in the Seattle area for the past 20 years. She received a comprehensive Pilates certification from Dana-Joel Belkholm at Mind and Body Pilates on Capitol Hill where she completed a rigorous 600 hour program. Heather’s compassionate-yet-demanding approach has enabled her clients to not only reach their goals, but for many to truly regain a quality of life through fitness and healing of both the body and the spirit. Heather’s ability to connect with the fitness novice, competitive athlete or rehabilitative client decisively sets her apart from the “one-size-fits-all” approach of many instructors and fitness programs today. Parson’s methodology, while rooted in sound principals based on the client’s current physical condition and/or limitations, is not undemanding, yet clients return again and again to be pushed, challenged and ultimately inspired by her uniquely motivating and results-oriented teaching style. In addition to her private training and group fitness sessions, Heather offers an Urban Adventure Series where the beautiful and naturally challenging outdoor environs of Western Washington provide the backdrop for a fitness experience with the potential to reveal the natural athlete in everyone.
After taking Pilates classes for 5 years, Karen discovered that the work of Pilates and its focus on core strength helped her in all aspects of her life from sports to day to day movement and postural awareness. She decided to share this knowledge with others and became a certified Pilates mat teacher through Power Pilates. She taught mat while completing the Power Pilates teacher training program and received her comprehensive certification through the Pilates Method Alliance. Karen is also a certified GYROKINESIS® and GYROTONIC® instructor; and an ACE Certified Group Fitness Instructor.
Kristina Dillard holds a BFA in Dance from Cornish College of the Arts and an MFA in Dance from Sarah Lawrence College. She completed her training in STOTT Pilates in 2015 -2016. Kristina brings a lifetime of movement studies and experience, and over 20 years teaching movement forms – ballet, modern, creative movement, and yoga to her expertise. Kristina will create a workout specific to each individual body, taking into account postural patterns, injuries, and strengths. She is highly adept at helping you find your core power and optimal alignment.
